Do you have a newly constructed home, or an older home with a grass or dirt area that you would like to make better use of? With Rubber Surfaces, we can create new patios, walkways, hot tub pads, or parking pads where none exist now. Using recycled tire rubber, we can apply a full one-and-a-half-inch thick layer on top of a properly prepared gravel base. Our slip-resistant rubber patio solutions provide both safety and comfort for your outdoor leisure areas. The only limitation in new home construction is that we need to wait a year or two to ensure proper settlement has occurred.
Our eco-friendly outdoor rubber surfacing offers a sustainable and durable alternative to traditional materials, perfect for revitalizing natural areas around your home. Additionally, we provide rubber paving over natural surfaces designed specifically to reinforce and protect grass and gravel areas, creating a functional and attractive outdoor environment.
Common FAQ
Can rubber surfacing be installed over grass or loose gravel?
Yes. We remove organics, compact the subgrade, add and compact a suitable base (e.g., crushed stone), then install the poured-in-place rubber layer. Over loose gravel, we stabilize and level before application.
Will the surface allow drainage, or will water pool?
The system sheds water with the site’s slope and is detailed to direct runoff to drains or adjacent landscaping. Proper base prep and grading prevent pooling; perimeter edges can include weep details where needed.
How do you keep weeds from coming through?
We strip vegetation, apply a weed-suppressing barrier where appropriate, and build a compacted aggregate base. The seamless rubber layer further blocks light, greatly reducing weed regrowth.
What edging options are available for transitions to lawn or planter beds?
We can finish to aluminum/steel landscape edging, pressure-treated lumber, concrete curbs, or clean trowel-cut terminations. Edges are sealed for a tidy look and to prevent raveling at transitions.
Is it suitable for pets and high-traffic backyard paths?
Yes. The surface is non-toxic, slip-resistant, and comfortable underfoot. It handles frequent foot traffic, pet play areas, and carts/wheelbarrows; routine rinsing or mild soap wash keeps it looking great.
