Rubber Surfaces only uses top-quality recycled tire rubber crumb available in North America. The plant we source from provides clean, pure rubber with no contaminants (such as bits of wire, cords, or whitewall) that can be found in other suppliers’ products. Additionally, we recognize that a driveway is not a patio or pool deck, so we use a slightly larger crumb size to provide maximum drainage and traction. Steep grades on driveways are no problem for us. Our rubber pool deck and stair surfacing combines safety with style. Our EPDM synthetic rubber color features are also sourced only from reputable companies to ensure the highest quality.
Rubber surfaces for Canadian properties are designed to withstand harsh weather and provide lasting durability.
The true secret to our success, however, is in the binder we use to glue our product together. Our binder has been specifically formulated for a variety of climates, which we get directly from the manufacturer. We do not use the one-size-fits-all base-mat binders that are available in the marketplace.
Additionally, our rubberized turf and gravel solutions provide eco-friendly options for natural surfaces needing reinforcement and durability.
Common FAQ
Can the rubber surface handle vehicle traffic and tire turning on driveways?
Our poured-in-place rubber surfacing is suitable for typical residential vehicles. The seamless, flexible surface resists scuffing from turning tires when installed over a sound concrete or asphalt base. For heavy commercial loads or frequent delivery trucks, contact us for a project-specific recommendation.
How slip-resistant is it in wet or icy conditions?
The textured finish provides excellent slip resistance year-round. In winter it offers better traction than bare concrete, but you should still remove snow/ice promptly and follow normal winter safety practices.
How do I remove snow, and which de-icers are safe?
Use a shovel or snow blower with properly set skids; plastic or urethane edges are preferred. Avoid aggressive metal blades that could gouge any surface. Common de-icers are compatible – apply as directed and rinse residues in spring to keep the surface looking its best.
Can it be installed over cracked or uneven concrete/asphalt?
Because it’s poured in place, the system fills hairline cracks and gaps and can be used to correct minor unevenness. Movement joints and larger structural cracks are honored with flexible detailing so the system can move without breaking bond. Proper drainage is maintained.
What maintenance and lifespan should I expect?
Maintenance is minimal – hose off dirt or wash with mild soap and water; occasional low-pressure power washing is fine. Spot repairs are possible without replacing the entire area. UV-stable pigments help minimize fading, and color blends keep high-traffic zones looking clean.
